Olivia begins her own adventures...

With only four days under her belt, little Miss O has been busy getting to know the world around her.  Here are pics from some of her first outings around Providence.

My first walk down to India Point Park in the Ergo
with Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa.
Walking to my first doctor's appointment.
I got a clean bill of health!
Stopping in at the bagel shop on the way home from
the doctor. At least I'll get to taste this sweet manna
in Mommy's milk!

Olivia's First Visitors: The Deerfields

It was no surprise to us that Uncle Jon would be the first to greet his new niece. Driving down and back in one day from Montpelier, VT just to get a glimpse of the new addition, Jon got to hang with us all day in the hospital on Sunday. It was wonderful to share this incredible time with him. We also had hospital visits from Terri (my boss), Josh & Natascha and even bumped into Susan Cohen as we left Women & Infants. Then, a few hours after we arrived home on Monday with Miss O, my parents arrived. It was wonderful to have them with us, obviously, and Olivia was instantly in love with them : ) We went on her first walk to India Point Park and spent hours just looking at her sweet face! And I don't need to mention how much they helped around the house - cooking us meals for the week - grocery shopping - cleaning up - you name it, they did it -- thank you Grandma and Grandpa D!!

Spending quality time with her Uncle Jon.
Snugglin' with Grandma.
Getting love from Grandpa.

We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our sweet baby daughter, Olivia Elizabeth. Born September 18th at 3:35pm, this little lady weighed in at 6 lbs 14 ozs and 19.25".  To our surprise she has a healthy head of brown hair (we were both baldy-babies!) and big beautiful eyes that would steal anybody's heart. Here are some of her first photos opts... you can expect many more to follow.

Ready - Set - Baby!

I think we're about as ready as any wide-eyed new-parents-to-be, can be: the nursery is set, everything's washed, and the hospital bags are packed. Now where is that baby??! Well, hopefully over the next few days the final missing piece will grace us with her/his sweet little face. So get in your predictions now - time's a-wastin'!

The Leitners and VT, a perfect combination.

At the end of July, on our last trip "out of state" before Tiz arrives, we ventured up to the Gemignani abode in beautiful Lincoln, VT.  This time we did not travel alone - we brought our good friends, Josh and Natascha Leitner and their 2 yr. old daughter, Zeneida. None of them had been to Vermont - but I think it's safe to say they all left big fans : ) After a great Saturday morning brunch with the family, Tony, Josh, Nat, Zeneida and I wandered around at the Bristol Farmer's Market, before heading to Buttonbay State Park on Lake Champlain. We played on the jungle gym(with Zen) and then took a nice trail walk down to the lake. On the way home, we drove through Vergennes and Middlebury, with a stop at the Otter Creek Brewery and the Middlebury Co-op. On Sunday my brother, Jon, came over for another great brunch and then a quintessential trip to the local watering-hole. It was a great visit with family and friends!

Natascha, Josh, Zeneida and I walking in Buttonbay State Park -
don't look at my crazy pregnant "kankles".. I was swollen all weekend!
It was a beautiful weekend - temps in the 80s!
The beach on Lake Champlain.
Lounging lakeside.
Me and Tiz taking in the gorgeous day.
The watering hole - the water was freeezing!
But everyone still jumped right in!
The freezing temps didn't bother this little rugrat -
Zeneida, you're a true Vermonter now!

Project Baby Shower!

On July 18th, Tony and I headed down to my parents' house on Long Island for a wonderful Teddy Bear Baby Shower Extravaganza! Our family and friends did an incredible job spoiling this little one with wonderful gifts and showering me with loads of love, support and advice. I definitely felt ready for the big day!

The diaper cake my Mom made was a perfect
centerpiece for the Teddy Bear themed party!

Here I am in my "Mommie-to-be throne".
I loved the cute cloth-line decor my Mom put
together above the mantle!
We had lots of yummie, healthy food -
including my favorite, shrimp cocktail -
thanks Aunt Barbara!
We also played fun baby shower games. Here my
Grandmother measures ribbon to guess
the circumference of my belly! My fashionista
clothing designer friend Jen won - figures!!
Posing with "Tiz" (our in-utero name for the baby)
The awesome lunch spread - complete with
teddy bear shaped sandwiches, a variety of salads,
and quiches - all made by my amazing mother!
Me and my pseudo-sis, Jen.
Me and my Rhody friend Natascha (she came all the way down
from RI with her husband and 2 yr old daughter to celebrate with us!)
Yea, Leitners!
The Family after a great day!
(While the ladies were partying at my parents' house,
the men "showered" Tony with burgers & beers at my grandparents' house : )
The incredible loot we walked away with -
thanks to everyone for their extreme generosity!!!!
Tiz will be soooo spoiled : )
