'Makin' Lemonade'.....

Well, after the disappointment of Friday night's wintry debacle.. we decided to make lemonade out of the lemons mother nature dealt us. The snow was beautiful - so we took a nice walk in the neighborhood; helped dig a neighbor's car out; picked up some snowstorm "accoutrements"; and settled down to an evening of cookie making and snowflake cutting...

One of many times we needed to clean off the car..

And the grand total is... well, it's still falling! But as of Sat, just over a foot

Snow's in... Poconos are out ...

Our long anticipated early X-mas celebration plans in the Poconos with the Gemignani clan came to a screeching halt thanks to mother nature this past Friday. The southern New England area was blanketed with over a foot of the white stuff causing driving conditions to go from bad (have you seen the potholes around here?!... and the drivers?) to worse. The straw that broke the camel's back however occurred after Tony was unable to get the car into the parking spot and then was unable to even get it back onto the street (after some less than elegant maneuvers). See the pics below:

Friends Forever?

Maybe...only time will tell if these two kitties will be BFF - but at least they have left the hissing behind and have decided to play nice. Well, at least some of the time! Here are some new pics of the the two.

Look at my beautiful big blues

We think they're playing...

Mocha is here!

Our newest addition was picked up from her foster parents ( Siobhan + Jeff) on Saturday, December 6 - exactly one year and 3 months after we brought Lula home. Now, the question is - will Lula make nice with her little sis? Well, we are just past the 48 hour mark and they are still mainly sniffing each other under the door ( Mocha is currently confined to the guest room). However, we did give them a glimpse of each other tonight during their dinner. A little hissing from Lula, but we're hoping that's just part of the: "Hey, you're in my house now, little one" ritual and it'll pass. As for her name - she came with Mocha, which we like - so unless we come up with something we like better in the next few weeks, it might just stick. ( BTW, name suggestions are always welcome) : )

She's always moving, so these pics are the best we've gotten so far... Enjoy!

I'm just chillin' with the T-man

My tail will always be in the shadow of my big sister's...literally!

Nuzzle, nuzzle.

and we wouldn't want Mocha to get ALL the attention, so...

I guess I'll get used to the kid.

Hi-ho, Hi-ho it's off to Long Island we go!

For Thanksgiving, that is. We spent 4 fun filled days with the family – eating, visiting and shopping. Even Lula came along for the trip! She was quite a trooper during the car and ferry ride - and was quite comfortable at 'Grandma + Grandpa's' by the end of the weekend. Here are a few photos to highlight our weekend in Smithtown.

We braved the holiday shoppers at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park.
(we only lasted about 2 hours)
